Our transfer will visit you at your hotel to transfer you to the place where your Tour begins, between 1:00 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. The tour starts at the Cathedral of Cusco, decorated with fine works in carved wood and impressive altars and beautiful paintings, made by the hands of local artists of the Cusqueña School, which hide hidden elements of indigenous thought. Then we will take a brief walk through the streets of the historic center towards the Qoricancha or Temple of the Sun, considered an indigenous religious sanctuary, where we will appreciate the fine work of lithic technology made by the Incas, with the highest level of hard stone cutting without being a sheet of paper can be inserted and that despite the earthquakes remain stable to date.
After the visit to the Qoricancha we will board the bus that will take us to Sacsayhuaman located 3km away. From the city of Cusco, Sacsayhuaman offers us a panoramic view of the city of Cusco; Sacsayhuaman was built with large blocks of limestone with a weight of 25 to 130 tons, integrated by three terraces superimposed in serpentine form (zigzag).
We will also arrive at Qenqo, which means “labyrinth”; it is located one kilometer from Sacsayhuaman and it consists of a construction based on limestone rock that shows a sculpture in stone in 500 square meters accompanied by structures that according to historians were used for the astronomical, religious and embalming and / or mummification purposes.
Then we will know Puca Pucara: from two Quechua words that means Puca (red) Pucara (fort)- "red fort", a strategic place for control and surveillance of access and exit from the Imperial city of Cusco, which was used as territorial border to divide the regions and establish the displacement regimes.
Finally we will visit Tambomachay: place of rest, located 9 km from the city of Cusco, better known as the Baños del Inca by the water sources, or also known as the waters of eternal youth by the flow of its waters that is constant and offers us part of the Inca trail that goes from Cusco to Machupicchu. This city tour in the city of Cusco ends at approximately 6:30 p.m.
After the tour you can enjoy a walk through the Plaza de Armas and the surroundings, where you can appreciate the work of Cusco artisans in craft shops; you can also taste the famous Peruvian cuisine in the nearby restaurants or you can simply take a break on one of the benches in Plaza de Armas. And if you like the nightlife around the square, you will find many nightclubs and bars where you can share stories and have fun with tourists and locals.
